She graduated from Nisland High School in 1954 and received an art scholarship to Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S.D.
Instead, she chose to marry Eugene Bishop of Findlay, Ohio, July 16, 1954, in Rapid City, S.D.
After a brief stay in Spokane, Wash., and the birth of their first daughter in 1955, the couple moved back to Rapid city and reared two addtional daughters and three sons.
in 1998, they moved to Ridgecrest.
