By 1895, when Helen was ten, the Lockwood family moved a couple hundred miles northeast, where they settled at 6350 Drexel Ave. in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
Helen finished growing up there over the next decade, until the family moved again, heading far out west to settle in Denver, Colorado.
There in their mid-twenties, Helen Lockwood met and married John Paul Lee on September 10, 1910 at St. Marks Church in Denver.
By the 1920 census the new Lee couple then settled some twenty miles to the north in Weld County, and had two daughters there over the next decade. After their second daughter, Bette, spent her early years there, by about 1932 the Lee famnily moved further southwest, to Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, where they lived at 705 North Louise St.
In 1941, when daughter Bette was 21, she met and married 23-year old Faye Neil Compton Jr., of Glendale.
Four years later in 1945 Bette lost her mother Helen, at age 60. Helen's husband John Paul died a generation later, in 1967 at age 86. John Paul was buried next to his wife here at Forest Lawn in Glendale.
