Private funeral will be held Saturday`afternoon at Guardian Funeral Home for Edwin Truett Long, 41, of 2803 Merrimac, medically discharged veteran who died at 3 a.m. Friday in a hospital after an illness of several months.
Long was given a discharge in November 1944, on a 100 percent total disability after serving as a sergeant in the Air Corps in the China-Burma-India theater of war. Serviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Long of the Merrimac address: a daughter, Patsy Long,18, of San Antonio; two sisters, Mrs. H.E. Good, Fort Worth, and Mrs. Dick Oxford, Arlington, and a brother, T.E. Long, Jr., serving with the Marines in the South Pacific.
