THE TILLER & TOILER
Larned, Kansas
Friday, February 25, 1910
Hugh Fulton was born October 20, 1857, in Orange county, Indiana, where his childhood and early manhood were spent. On the 12th of June, 1887, he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Miller. To this union were born seven children, five sons and two daughters. Mr. Fulton, in company with his family, came to Kansas in 1900 and settled in Barton county, moving to Pawnee county in 1904. Through all the hardships of early years Mr. Fulton toiled with the unshaken faith in the future of his adopted state, and when better days came he laid down tired hands and waited for the higher summons. Industry and honesty were the marks of his character, by which he gained many close friends.
At an early age Mr. Fulton was converted and united with the Baptist church, in which faith he died. The deceased has been a sufferer from dropsy for several months and has been very low during the last few weeks. A few weeks ago he was moved from his home to the Larned hospital, at which place he died. Death relieved him of his suffering at 12:15 o'clock Friday, Feb. 18, 1910, at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 28 days. He leaves his widow, five sons and two daughters and three sisters, besides a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn his departure, who hope for a joyful reunion in heaven.
The funeral services were held at the home 14 miles northwest of Larned, Feb. 19th, by Rev. Chas. D. Norman, pastor of the M. E. church at Rush Center, Kansas, interment being made in Ash Valley (Larned) cemetery.
