Buried next to his parents, Villa and Rev. Charles Anderson.
He was an aerial gunner killed in action over Germany September 12, 1944.
He was born at Hatfield Arkansas and graduated from the Hatfield High School in 1939.
He was a member of the Two Mile Baptist Church. He was United in marriage September 24, 1939 to Miss Augusta Poindexter.
Glenn joined the U.S. Army air force during the early part of 1943 and served as aerial gunner on a B-24 in the 8th Air Force.
He was first buried in the U.S. military cemetery at Neuville, Belgium. The remains were escorted to Mena Arkansas by T/sgt. Charles A. Stegman, arriving in Mena June 17, 1949 from the Chicago IL GAR Depot.
Funeral services with reburial were held June, 19 1949 at the Gann cemetery at Potter Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley wood funeral home. Rev. Arlie McDaniel, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mena, Rev. C.E. Pennington, pastor of the Hatfield Baptist Church officiated. Pallbearers were uniformed members of the Rush-Terrell American Legion Post No. 293 of Potter: Lloyd Lane, Arlie Liles, Walter Rouse, Bud Bennett, Elmer Bobo, Corky Callahan, Paul Cunningham, Roland Gann, and Alvin Foshee.
Survivors included his parents, 2 brothers, Ray U. Anderson and Doyle R. Anderson and 5 sisters, Lora McLellan (Luke), Sallie Newsom (Claude), Rena Howard (Nolan), Oleta Bishop (J.E.),and Louise Shipman (Paul).
