Born in St. Louis, Mr. Highley lived in Muncie for the past 41 years. He was a charter member of the Riverside Avenue Baptist Church.
Mr. Highley was in the home-remodeling business for the past several years, selling and building.
Surviving besides the wife, Margaret, are two sons, Jerry D., Muncie, and Dan M., Indianapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Vela Morris and Mrs. Ruth Courtwright, Webb City, Mo., Mrs. Edna Felkins, Mrs. Margaret Campbell, and Mrs. Dorothy Wallace, California; five brothers, Roy and Carl, California, Charles, St. Louis, Joe, Little Rock, and William, Webb City, Mo., and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to services at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Charles White of Riverside Avenue Baptist Church will officiate at services. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
