G.W. was a blacksmith. He was born in Tennessee (probably 1850, even though his death certificate says 1845).

*(George Walker's death certificate indicates he was to be buried in Grandin Cemetery. However, a grandson has said he clearly remembers the burial being next to his second wife Juley in the Good Hope Cemetery on "O" Hwy, south of Grandin, Missouri.)

According to census records: His family left Tennessee and move to Kentucky some time before 1855. They were farmers. Then, some time before 1885 he moved with his wife Seily and their children to Carter County, Missouri.
