Was Life-Long Resident of Webster Neighborhood; 76 Years Old
Alva J. Phillips, life-long resident of the Webster community, died Monday at the Lane Nursing home in Winterset. He was 76 years of age.
Mr. Phillips was born in Madison county, Sept. 2, 1869, the son of William and Martha Jane Phillips. His entire life was spent in Madison and Adair counties.
He was married in 1903 to Mrs. Dora Howard. She died in 1915.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Walter A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Roberts cemetery.
