Walter Carpenter of Delanson, R.D. 4, life-long farmer in the Duanesburgh township, died Saturday morning following a brief illness. He was 72 years of age.

Mr, Carpenter was born in the town of Duanesburgh on March 28, 1863, son of the late Jesse B. and Phoebe Gage Carpenter. He is survived by his widow; Kate Hunting, two daughters, Mrs. Dimont M. Rector of Delanson
and Mrs. Fred Jarvis of Schenectady; one grandson, Walter Rector, also of Delanson; and one sister, Mrs. Frank Barton, residing in Schoharie.

Mr. Carpenter was married twice.

Funeral services were held from the late home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Officiating were Rev. Edward Diamond, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church of Schenectady, former acting rector of Duanesburgh Christ Episcopal church, and Rev. Frank Beldon, rector of the Duanesburgh church.

Burial was in Grove cemetery.
