💖 She was my Grandmother in law. Her mother died when she was 15 yrs old and she helped raise her brother Bill and sister Laura and also took care of the house and cooked the meals for the family. She was a hard worker. She was also a breast cancer surviver. She got divorced and her husband died soon after that. She worked as a manger in a dress shop and took in boarders to make ends meet. She raised her children Buddy and Ramona by herself. She remarried later to Dick English and loved him very much until he died and later in life she married Clair Palmer and when she got alzheimers, her daughter Ramona and her husband Walker took her in to live with them and Clair moved away. We sometimes went to help watch her so my inlaws could work in the backyard. She also had a lady named Ruth who stayed with her while my in laws worked. She was a sweet and loving lady even while she had alzheimers. She was a good cook, and had a beautiful yard full of flowers she grew herself. I asked her one time how she got the nickname Dee Dee and she told me when her one grandson Walk was born that she wanted him to call her Granny. He couldn't say Granny and it came out as DeanDee. So Walk and all his brothers and sister called her that and when they grew up, the name became Dee Dee. She loved spending time with her family and friends and we loved spending time with her too. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We love and miss her very much. She had alzhiemers and died from complacations from a fall and hitting her head.
