Obit ! Funeral services were held Sat. p.m. from the E.U.B. church for Mrs. Carrie Carroll, 73, who died Thurs at the Russell Hospital. Former pastor, C.L. Miller of Haven, officiated, burial in the Russell cem. Mrs. Carroll had been suffering from a heart condition for several years and had been a patient in the hospital since June. 18.
Born Apr 22, 1888, near Russell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Ballard, she was united in marriage in 1909 to Fred J. Carroll. He preceded her in death in 1935. Mrs. Carroll, who lived at 57 S. Lincoln St., managed the Carroll Hatchery for several years until ill health forced her retirement several years ago.
Survivors are three sons, Glen L. of Cabool, MO; Clyde L. of rural Russell, and Warren G. of Codell; and two daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Selda) Mitchell, of Russell; and Mrs. Howard (Daisy) Welch, of Huggins, MO. A son, Fred Carroll Jr., died at the age of seven.
