FREDONIA - Martha Agusta Owens, 90, Humboldt, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1912, in Woodson County, the daughter of Henry F.C. and Mary Stange Bulk.
She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1930.
She was a homemaker and was also employed as a nurse's aide at Autry's Residential Care Home and Pinecrest Nursing home until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of St. Pete'rs Lutheran Church, Humboldt, Groves Unit, Dorcas Society, M.B.S. Club, and a 20 year member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She taught Vacation Bible School for 27 years and was a member of the Mission of Love for the Lutheran Church. She was the sewing leader for the Full-O-Pep 4-H Club for several years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and fishing.
On Sept. 30,1934, she married Clyde W. Owens. He died April 9, 1969.
Survivors include three sons, William E. Owens, Humboldt, Melvin L. Owens, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Ronald E. Owens, Grove, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Weiland; a sister, Elizabeth Bulk; and a brother, Arthur Bulk.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, led by the Rev. David Meier. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt.
Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Lutheran Church and may be left with the funeral home.
