Mrs. Helen Aikens, age 85, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
Mrs. Aikens was born December 11, 1926, in New York City, to the late Peter & Ellen Elizabeth Brady and was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Aikens. She worked for Rich's Department Store for more than 20 years and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, Thomas & Linda Aikens of Hiram, GA, Steve & Barbara Aikens of Piedmont, AL, and Chris Aikens of the Yorkville, community; daughters & son-in-law, Betty Edgell of Flowery Branch, GA and Theresa & John Lee of Hiram, GA; step-son, Howard & Rebecca Aikens of Cedarbluff, AL; daughter-in-law, Darlene Aikens of Powder Springs, GA; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grand-children; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral were conducted Friday, January 27, 2012, at 11:00 am, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Chris Branscomb and Dr. Gil Watson officiating.
Interment followed in Bethany Christian Church Cemetery.
