Sherry D. Leland (Sorensen) was born on June 2, 1947 in Hinsdale, Illinois to Joe and C. Noreen Sorensen. She was the oldest of five children; Noel, Holly, Neil and Carl Sorensen. She graduated from West Chicago High School and soon married David R. Paxton. They had two sons and after three years of marriage, they divorced. Sherry married Denny Leland and they had a daughter.
She died on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the University Chicago Hospital, as a result of complications from a series of strokes.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Sorensen; her brother, Noel Sorensen; her mother, C. Noreen Sorensen; and her husband, Denny Leland.
A memorial service will be held on her behalf on Friday,. March 12, 2004 at 10:00 am in Harvest Baptist Church located at 5315 Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL. She will be buried at Glen Oaks Cemetery, West Chicago, IL.
