Darrell Simpson, 84, R R. 2, Martinsville, died at 6 p.m. Thursday (June 26y) at the Burnside Nursing Home in Marshall. He was a retired farmer and had served for many years as the elementary school custodian, and school bus driver for the Martinsville School District.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jun3 29, at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Jack Cunningham and Rev. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial followed in Medsker Cemetery.

Mr. Simpson was born May 29, 1913 in Casey the son of Shell and Ora Tharp Simpson. He married Bonnie Medsker on Aug. 31, 1933.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bernard Simpson and Larry Simpson, both of Martinsville; one brother, Rolla Simpson of Casey; one sister, Goldie Shotts of Marshall; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceeded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Simpson was a member of the Island Grove Baptist Church.

The family suggests, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society.
