Wilfred O."Willie" Crafton Sr., 88, of Richmond, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, passed away on January 9, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wilfred "Wink" Crafton Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita S. Crafton; his daughter, Linda Mae Bassett; grandchildren, Kevin, Christopher and Jason; great-granddaughter, Hailey; nieces, Sharon Priddy, Patti Enns, Cathy Fell, Deborah Long, Terry Diggs, Judy O'Connor and Karol Tucker; nephews, William Via Jr., Byron Long and Michael Shannon; great-nieces, Brooke, Kara and Dylan; and great-nephew, Reid.

Mr. Crafton was a painting contractor. He served in the Army medic department in WWII. He was a member of VFW 9808 and the American Legion Post 125. He was a 50-year member of Northminster Baptist Church and the Baraca Bible Class. He was a 30-year member of the Lion's Club.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, January 13, at Northminster Baptist Church.

Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Cancer Society or Northminster Baptist Church.
