OLE O. EVENSON CALLED TO HIS ETERNAL HOME TUESDAY, MARCH 16TH, 1926

Ole O. Evenson, aged 82 years, a resident of Camp township since 1911, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ole H. Boyum, in that township Tuesday, March 16, after a brief illness. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the house, Rev. F. I. Hanson of Marietta, officiating in place of Rev. Thos. Hanson, who is ill with pneumonia. Interment was made in the Village cemetery at Bird Island, where his wife, who preceded him in death, is buried.

Ole O. Evenson (Kjonnes) (Kjonaas) was born September 29, 1844, in Muskego near Waterford, Wis. He came to Albert Lea, Minn. (Bancroft Township, Freeborn County), at the age of twenty years and remained there with his brother until 1874 when he came to Renville county and took up a homestead in Melville township. On February 21, 1881, he was united in marriage to Barbara Erickson Grane (sic, Graue), who died in the spring of 1904 (incorrect, she died 1902). He sold his homestead the same year and in the fall moved to Albert Lea (Bancorft, Township, Freeborn County), where he resided for about seven years. In 1911 he came to live with his daughter in Camp township with whom he spent his remaining years. A year ago last January he was taken sick with influenza and when he again came down with same disease in March this year, death claimed him, Tuesday, March 16, 1926 at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Two daughters, Isabel and Bertha, preceded him in death and he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ole H. Boyum of Camp and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. C. A Hale (Cahill, not C. A. Hale) of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Halvorson of Waterford, Wis., and one brother Ole I. Evenson, of Waterford, Wis., the last two named and a cousin (nephew) Martin Osmunson (Osmonson) of Albert Lea (Bancroft, Freeborn County), were here to attend the funeral. The many friends of the bereaved family extend their sincere sympathy.

Passed Away at Home of His Daughter, Mrs. Olai H. Boyum, After Brief Illness

Ole. O. Evenson passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Olai H. Boyum in Camp last Tuesday, March 16, at the age of 81 years, the immediate cause of his death being influenza. Funeral services were held at the Boyum home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. S. E. Hanson of Marietta, brother of Rev. Thos. Hanson who was unable to serve because of illness. The body was taken to Bird Island for Burial.
Ole O. Evenson Kjonnes (Kjonaas) was born Sept. 29, 1844, in Muskego, southwest of Milwaukee, Wis. He came to Albert Lea, Minn. (Bancroft Township, Freeborn County), at the age of twenty, remaining there with his brother until 1874 when he came to Renville County and secured a homestead in Melville township, he was united in marriage to Miss Barbara Erickson Grane (Graue), who passed away in 1904 (she died in 1902). After his wife's death he sold his farm and moved to Albert Lea (Bancroft Township, Freeborn County) where he spent about seven years. In 1911 he came to live with his daughter, Mrs. Olai H. Boyum, in Camp, where he enjoyed a good home and the best of care.
A year ago, in January, he suffered a severe attack of influenza, but was able to recover. He was again taken ill with the same disease early this month and passed away March 16, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Two daughter preceded him in death: Isabel Evenson who died at the age of 22 years and Bertha Evenson who died in 1902 (incorrect, she died in 1903) at the age of 19. An only daughter, Tilla (Thilda) Evenson, now Mrs. Olai Boyum of Camp, survives him, also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. C. A. Hale (Cahill, not C. A. Hale), Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Halvorson, and Ole I. Evenson, Waterford, Wis., and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Halvorson and Ole Evenson of Waterford and a cousin (nephew) Martin Osmonson of Albert Lea (Bancroft Township, Freeborn County), were present at the funeral.
Mrs. Boyum has the sympathy of her neighbors and friends in her bereavement.
