Son of Asahel Perry and Polly Chadwick. He came to Utah in 1850. He was a missionary to the Eastern States twice and presiding Elder of a Branch in Utah County.
He was an early settler of Springville, where he assisted in developing the country. He was an Indian War Veteran, Farmer and a chairmaker. He was one of Joseph Smith's bodygaurds.
