Charlotte Rose Livingston grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana and is the daughter of Henry H Livingston and Minnie Baugh Livingston. She attended high school in Terre Haute and married Bill J. Scott (d in 2003 in Terre Haute) in 1957 and they divorced sometime around 1967 while living in Anaheim, California. A voracious reader and a very good cook, she enjoyed being a much loved Aunt to several nephews and nieces along with her adoring children. Charlotte had a common law marriage to Jerry Sumner for many years and remained with him until her death in 2000. Jerry died in Jeffersonville, Indiana in 2010.
Charlotte had an energy about her which drew people to her and she blessed her children with this energy which they still hold onto today. She enjoyed crafting, reading, gardening and sewing almost always with a hot cup of coffee in her grip.
Life was not easy for Charlotte and she is a survivor of abuse from her common law husband but ever determined to keep her relationship going, Charlotte somehow made it work for over 30 years. She was a champion to optimism and discretion when times were hard. Her courage and strength was always obvious along with her deep empathy and love for her children and grandchildren. She passed while still young but she battled health issues for many years. Sadly missed and very much loved.
She was cremated and her ashes remain with family.
There was no obituary released upon her death however her son Richard Michael Scott will release an official obituary in the Terre Haute Tribune Newspaper sometime in 2014.
