Wesley Wright Crenshaw son of James W. and Viola (Bennett) Crenshaw.Wesley Wright Crenshaw married Betty Lois Dudley on December 15,1945.

Wesley Wright Crenshaw,89,passed away peacefully in the early morning on February 16,2012.

Born in Houston,Texas on December 25,1922,Wesley loved and served his country in the U.S. Army,during World War II,as a Private First Class with Company B.,38th Infantry Regiment,7th Armored Division for a year & 10 months.

Four months of his service was spent as a prisoner of war in Germany.

He received the following medals and badge,Bronze Star,Purple Heart,American Campaign Medal WW II,WW II Army of Occupational Service Medal (Germany),Prisoner of War Medal,World War II Victory Medal,European-African,Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (Double Bronze Star),Army Distinguished Service Medal,and Combat Infantry Badge.

He worked for the City of Bryan as a mechanic and also worked on family and friends vehicles.

Wesley was a quiet,private person who loved his family,especially his children and grandchildren.

He demonstrated his love of God as a Christian by his faithful service as a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church for as long as his health permitted.

The last three years of Wesley's life were spent in the care of the VA Memorial Hospital in Waco where he loved,and was loved in return,by all his caregivers.

Wesley was preceded in death by his first wife & the mother of his children,Betty Dudley Crenshaw.

The deepest gratitude and thanks are extended to the VA Memorial Hospital in Waco for their wonderful care and support of our loved one.

Pallbearers include:Ben Crenshaw,Clay Crenshaw,Cody Crenshaw,Joshua Crenshaw,Nathan Crenshaw,Stephen Crenshaw and Keith Gibson.(all are grandsons)

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday,February 18,at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church in Keith,under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
