MITCHELL STARNES LOONEY WAS THE SIBLING OF LILLIE MORGAN, ORVILLE BRADLEY, ABSALOM DAVID, JOHN CHARLES, LIDA ANNE, GAINES HASSON AND ELLA MYRTLE LOONEY.

ROGERSVILLE – Mitchell Starnes Looney, 87, Route 2, farmer and merchant, died Tuesday at 3 a.m.
Looney, of the Carters Valley section, is survived by four sons, Paul and Charlie, both of Rogersville, and Ben and Bert Looney of Surgoinsville; three daughters, Mrs. Ester Davidson and Mrs. W. H. Wolfe, both of Rogersville, and Miss Geneviene Looney of Albuquerque, N. M.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Surgoinsville Methodist Church. The Rev. Sterling Turner, assisted by the Rev. Norman Litton, will officiate. Burial will be in the Surgoinsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Bellamy, Ralph Jennings, Harlan Pearson, Loren Hammond, Hugh Leeper and Clinton Armstrong.
The body will be taken to the church one hour before services to lie in state. Until that time, it will remain at Colboch-Price Funeral Home.
