ELTON CLINARD OF TOQUIN DIES AT HOSPITAL

Funeral rites will be held at Bangor at 2 Thursday afternoon for Elton Clinard, 54, well known farmer residing north of Toquin, who died Monday evening at the University hospital at Ann Arbor where he was taken a week before with an acute lung infection. He was placed under an oxygen tent at the hospital, but efforts to save his life proved futile. Mr. Clinard was nearly a lifelong resident of the Toquin community northwest of Hartford, and was a son of the late Zimri Clinard and Rose Clinard of Hartford. Mr. Clinard is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lydia May Nutting of the Toquin district; his mother, Mrs. Rose Clinard who for the past several months has resided at Flint; three brothers, Harry and Roy of Bangor and Earl of Watervliet; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Smith of Watervliet, and Mrs. Myrtle Phillips of Hartford; a half brother, Henry Clinard of Lawrence; and a half sister, Mrs. Bertha Disbrow of Hartford. Following the funeral services Thursday, burial will take place at the Thomas cemetery in southwest Bangor.

ELTON CLINARD

Clarence Elton Clinard was born to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Zimri Clinard in Bangor township on the 16th day of April, 1885, and departed this life on the 5th day of April, 1937.

He was united in marriage with Lydia May Nutting on the 22nd day of November, 1907.

He was a member of the Gleaner lodge.

Practically his entire life was spent in Bangor township.

His last illness was of brief duration, yet it is highly probably that he was in the grip of his last ailment a long time before he complained and gave up to hospital care.

He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, Mrs. Lydia May Clinard; his mother, Mrs. Rose Clinard of Flint; three brothers, Harry of Bangor township, Roy of Bangor, and Earl of Watervliet; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Smith of Watervliet and Mrs. Myrtle Phillips of Hartford; a half-brother, Henry Clinard of Lawrence; a half-sister, Mrs. Hayes Disbrow of Hartford; 29 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Scott D. MacDonald at the Sherrod chapel in Bangor, and interment was made at the Thomas cemetery, Thursday afternoon.
