Anna Hosea Brown.

Anna Hosea was born in Delaware September 19, 1866, and died in St. Joseph, Mo., December 7, 1919, aged 53 years, 2 months and 18 days. She came to Pawnee county in 1872 and had lived here ever since. Her childhood home was a typical pioneer Methodist home, and she united with the Methodist church in 1895. She was united in marriage to James Brown March 22, 1888, who preceded her to the "better country" by three years. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Hester Wilson of this county.


Mrs. Brown had not been well for about three years and went to a hospital in St. Joseph, Friday, December 5, hoping to be benefited by an operation. The angel of death called her to the "place prepared for her", and she answered the summons Sunday evening, December 7, at 9 o'clock. In addition to her daughter, she leaves three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Clara Dusenberry, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Rachel Sheldon and Mrs. Martha H. Sawyer, of Armour; J. H. Hosea, of Wilsonville, and Wm. H. Hosea, of Alma, Nebr.


Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Pawnee City Thursday afternoon, December 11, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. N. Dawson, and interment was made in the Pawnee City cemetery.
