Passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw, age 66. He was born June 23, 1935 in Maple Grove Township, the son of Arthur and Cleopha (Birkmeier) Streng, and he resided in the Chesaning area his entire life. He married Jane Siler on May 13, 1961. She survives him. A member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, he retired from General Motors Flint Truck and Bus in 1994 with 39 years service. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960
Survivors also include four childen, Denise and Mark Sammons, of New Lotbhrop, Joseph and Delynn Streng of Freeland, Robert and Paula Streng of Flushing, Julie and Michael Bond of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Justin and Amber Sammons, Jamie, Aaron, Adam and Tyler Streng; six brothers and sisters, Donna and Jim Black, Betty and Maurice Ruddy, Larry and Kathy Streng, Marie and Larry Crete, Michael Streng and Marilyn and Ralph Whiteacre. He is predeceased by his parents. Funeral services were Monday, Oct 15, At St. Michael Catholic Church im Maple Grove. The Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly officiated. Walker Martin Funeral Home assisted with funeral arrangements.
