ROCK HILL Thomas Mason Caveny, 85, of 2788 W. Main, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.

A native of McConnells, Mr. Caveny was born Dec. 17, 1926, son of the late Robert Campbell and Annie Brown Caveny. He retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing and worked as a bailiff at the Moss Justice Center after retirement. Mr. Caveny was a WWII Navy veteran and member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Montgomery Caveny.

Surviving are Abbie Caveny of Rock Hill, Jayne Caveny Reynolds of Rock Hill and Julie Caveny Miller of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Roy Caveny of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Jordan Elizabeth Reynolds of Rock Hill, Caroline Avery Miller and Mason Henry Miller, both of Durham.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Caveny will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Daniel Smoak officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 4858 McConnells Hwy., York, SC 29745.
