Roy Campbell Caveny, 95, passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018 at his home in York.
The funeral will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Philadelphia UMC in York with Rev. Emily Sutton officiating. The burial will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at Philadelphia UMC.
Roy was a son of the late Robert Campbell Caveny and Irene Brown Caveny. He attended York schools before entering the US Army Air Force and serving during WWII. After returning to York, Roy worked at Dunlap Johnson Chevrolet as the service manager and later retired from Williams Motors as the service manager. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR racing, and loved traveling with friends and family. He will be remembered for always having a smile for everyone he met.
Roy is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Evelyn Boyd Caveny, children, Patricia C. Benfield (Billy) of Rock Hill, Margaret Caveny of Holmes Beach, FL, Sandi Branch (Freck) of McConnells, Bobby Caveny of Rock Hill, step children, David “Cam” Jones of York, and Diane Slaughter of Seneca, SC, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by an infant son and his son Bill Caveny, brothers, Gene, Mason, Herbert, Carl, George, sisters, Annie Feemster, Aileen Feemster, and Frances Dickson.
