John Ronald Ametrano, age 68, of Greenfield, passed away on February 13, 2012. Born on October 16, 1943, in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of Frank Joseph and Dorothy (Hooper) Ametrano. John married Shirley Ann Conner on December 26, 1993, and was a Journeyman for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #440. He worked for Peine Engineering and several other contractors as a Refrigeration and Heating and Ventilation serviceman. Mr. Ametrano was a member of the Centre Lodge #23 in Indianapolis and the Order of the Eastern Star #101 in Eden, Indiana.

Surviving him are his wife, Shirley Ann Williams Conner; brother-in-law, Eugene (Reta) Williams of Frankfort; nephew, Eric (Christy) Williams of Brownsburg; and niece, Elizabeth (Brent) Walter of Wanamaker. Preceding him in death were his parents and beloved animals, Ginger, Mikey, Gidget, and Buster.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19, 2012, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Russ Jarvis will be officiating.
