Early Life: Wilson was born January 15, 1924, in Wattis, Utah, to Leroy Wilson and Christina Ferguson Thomas. He was the seventh of eleven children and received his early education in Spanish Fork schools.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On August 6, 1943, Wilson married Dorothy A. Forbes, in Abilene, Texas. He attended the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. He served from 1943 to 1946 in the United States Army in World War II. He served in the United States, in combat in Germany, and later, in the Military Government in Germany. Upon his return from military service, he was employed by U.S. Steel Corporation, Geneva Works for 37 years, retiring as the General Supervisor of Labor Relations, Geneva Works. He was an active member of the Catholic Church in his Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, Provo-Orem, and in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a men's Catholic fraternal society for most of his adult life, serving as State Deputy in 1963 to 1965 and was Utah Knight of the Year in 1978. L. Wilson Thomas, Provo, Utah, died December 14, 2014, of natural causes.
