Larry A. Allen, 67, of Ely Road, died Monday, February 13, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born in Springfield to the late Arthur Allen and Anna (Marciniec) Johnson he has been a life long resident here. Larry was the owner and operator of Larry's Oil Burner Sales & Service which he started in 1974 and continues to serve Monson and the surrounding communities. Larry was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson. His passion was classic cars and classic car shows. Larry leaves his wife of 41 years Sharon A. (Dane) Allen; two sons Brian Allen of Monson and Eric Allen and his wife Krista of Texas; a brother Arthur Allen and his wife Karen of Monson and three grandchildren, Emily Allen, Dane Allen and Arabella Allen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012. Please join the family directly at St. Patrick's Church, 22 Green St., for Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery both in Monson. Visiting hours, or as Larry would like them to be called "Cruise Night" will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson.
