Vienna is the daughter of David Potter Jr and Charlotte Osborn Potter married 1817 in in Erie County Pennylvania.
Vienna married Allen Madison Green (e) in 1843 Montose, Lee County, Iowa.
Vienna Potter Green and her husband, Allen Madison Green traveled West with his parents Charles L. Green (e) in the Silas Richards Company in 1849. But on August 24, 1849, they left with eight or nine other wagons on their
own and traveled ahead of the Silas Richards Company on into Utah.
Vienna & Allen went all the way west to the Brighton area for approx. 15-years, it is now thought that the Great Flood of 1862 is what forced them to move to Arizona. It could of also been the "post gold rush" economy. It is thought that they sold fruits and vegi's while in California. One story said it was hearing of silver in Arizona that prompted them to leave, another is that they were headed to Texas to buy land and they were robbed stranding them in Arizona ??? While in California they buried a child along the American River under a oak tree.
While in Arizona her name appears on the census with some roudies of the old west. Not living with her, but in the same area. :0
The Will of Justus Osborn, registered October 17, 1857:
stated I give and bequeath to my daughter Charlotte one dollar also one hundred dollars to my granddaughter Vienna,
daughter of Charlotte if living and called for within three years after my decease, otherwise to be paid to my grand daughter Sarah P. Wirt. Also I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Sarah P. Wirt seven hundred and eighty six dollars…." Charlotte, Vienna's mother had joined the Mormons and his other family had stayed Methodist. Justus was a Licensed Methodist Exhorter. Don't know if she ever collected the $100.00.
On the 1900 Federal Census Vienna was 74 years old and living with George Kelley, she is listed as his Aunt.
Allen Madison Green died in 1897. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom were living at the time of the census.
