Harry Parker was sent to Canada in 1910 at age 14 through the child migration scheme by Dr. Barnardo's Home. He is one of about 120,000 British home children sent here. He enlisted in both our great wars. Sadly just 4 short months into his WWII enlistment he fell ill and was hospitalized. He would be struck off strength within a month and died 6 weeks later of carcinoma. Since he was struck off before he died, he does not qualify to be in our Books of Remembrance. His WWI service file is under service #602946.

Also buried in the same cemetery within the Legion Memorial Field, is his brother William Henry Parker (BEF WWI) and his nephews, all of William's children who served:
Harry Parker (WWII)
Charles (WWII)
Robert Parker (Korea)

Another nephew, Donald (Korea), lies in rest in BC.
The youngest nephew, William "Keith", lies to rest in this cemetery just not within the field, as he went on to be a member of our fire department in Chatham, Ontario.
