Simeon Brock Trask was born in Marriott, Somerset, England. He was baptized December 11, 1831 in Merriott and lived in Merriott until about 1841. Simeon Brock Trask was the son of Simon and Catherine Denmead Trask and the third of twelve children.

Simeon Brock, his parents and siblings immigrated from England to Canada West in 1842 and settled in Peel Township, Wellington County, Canada West. Simeon would have been ten or eleven years old when the family made the trip from England to Canada--one that probably took 6-8 weeks to arrive in a Canadian port, and then travel by lake boat and overland to their final destination.

Simeon Brock Trask married Mary Ivy Tyack on December 25, 1861 in Peel, Wellington, Canada West. The couple's first child, Clara D., was born in that location in 1863. Simeon was a farmer.

Simeon B. and Mary Ivy Trask had five children: Clara D. (1863-1944); Oliver B. (1868-); Ezra Wellington (1871-); Simon Edes (1872-1933); and Simeon Guy (1978-). Simeon's wife Mary Ivey died in 1896. Sometime prior to 1901, he married for the second time to a woman named Elizabeth.
