Born in Nova Scotia, Joseph came to Haverhil MA for the final time with his family shortly after 1901. He married first in Newburyport MA on Nov. 26, 1904 to Laura Rosa Abbott, a fellow Nova Scotian. Laura died in Haverhill in 1919.
Joseph then married Anna J. (Comeau) Stark in Plaistow, Rockingham County, NH on Jan. 17, 1930. They lived for a short time in NH, but returned to Haverhill MA where they remained until their deaths.
