Mrs. Elizabeth Dumler
Mrs. Elizabeth Milberger Dumler was born February 10, 1875, at Echheim, Russia, and came to America with her parents, Henry and Katherine Milberger, at the age of three, locating at Russell. Early in life, she was left without parents, her mother's death occurring when she was four and by the time she was eight, her father passed away. She made her home with her brother, J. J. Milberger, and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Bloomfield, Neb. by Rev. Waltiere. For four years she taught in an Indian mission school near Yankton, S.D.
In 1895 she was united in marriage to Fred Dumler of Russell, Kansas, and to his union was born seven children: Rev. Henry Dumler, Davenport, Neb.; Mrs. Caroline Sebelist, Glen Olden, PA., Mrs. Emilie Laughlin, Los Angeles, Calif.; Julius Dumler, Russell; Miss Martha Dumler, Lincoln Nebraska, Mrs. Clara Virgil of Omaha, Neb., and Fred Dumler of Lincoln.
Until Dec. 2, 1926, the family resided at Russell, moving at that time to Lincoln. The devoted couple were blessed with 52 years of happiness together.
Mrs. Dumler is survived, besides her husband and children, by two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Karst and Mrs. Mollie Strecker, both of Russell, 14 grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church in Russell on Tuesday, March 25, with Rev. E. H. Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Russell Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Deines Bros. Funeral Home.
