Thelma Wafford
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Springfield for Thelma Irene "Sis" Wafford of Eugene, who died Feb. 8 of age-related causes. She was 94.
She was born Dec. 27, 1917, in Colgate [sic], Okla., to Ed and Myrtle Smith Jenkins. She married Clarence Wafford on Nov. 23, 1935, in New Mexico. He died in 2009.
Survivors include two sons, C. Eugene of Marcola and DeWayne of Eugene; a daughter, Joy Haynes of Springfield; a brother, M. "Sonny" Jenkins of Eugene; two sisters, Alene Glaspey of Redmond and Mina Earl of La Pine; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Alpha Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene.
