Elizabeth Winslow "Lizzie" Harrell, 85, of 236 Riverwood Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 in Carolina House, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Harrell was born in Perquimans County and was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Pennie Gregory Winslow. The retired owner and operator of Cannon's Cleaners, she was a member of Hertford Baptist Church and The Women of The Moose. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Harrell, Sr.; and by her brother, James Thomas Winslow. Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Skinner and husband, Randy, of Hertford; her son, Thomas E. Harrell Jr. and friend, Mary Lou Barnhill, of Hampstead; three grandchildren, Mandy Harrell, Elizabeth Skinner, and Jason Biggs; three great-grandchildren, Irie and Star Paulus and Tyler Phelps; and a special niece, Elizabeth Harrell of Edenton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times the home of her daughter on Riverwood Drive.
