Carlton Leon Gilbert, 76, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty S. Gilbert; parents, William and Gladys Gilbert.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Brianne Gilbert; grandchildren, Jordan and Avery Gilbert; brothers, Gene Gilbert and wife, Sandra, Wayne Gilbert and wife, Donna; sisters, Freda Eller and husband, Bill, Loretta Bland and husband, Tony; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Mullen officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday February 10, 2012 at Oakey's North Chapel. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel, Roanoke.
