BUCKLIN, Mo. — Florence Louise Banks, 79, Bucklin, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at La Verna Village Nursing Home in Savannah, Mo. She was born on October 20, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Eva (Foster) Herman. Florence married Edward “Ed” Banks Sr. on December 25, 1964, in Kansas City, Kan., and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2008. She loved being around people and especially being with her family. Florence enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing bridge, and country living. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Tim) Grey of Independence, Mo.; son, Kenneth Paden of Ozawkie, Kan.; step-daughter, Susie (Glen) Watson of Bucklin, Mo.; step-sons, Dalton Banks of Bucklin, Mo., and Eddy (Paula) Banks; sisters, Diana Fox of St. Charles, Mo., and Linda (Earl) Lammers of Amazonia, Mo.; brother, Jack Karr of St. Joseph; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Dennis and Johnny Paden; and one brother, Dick Karr. Chapel services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Visitation will be held at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.
