Kaw City Resident Dies At Ponca City

Mrs. Dell Howland, Kaw City, died in the Grandview hospital in Ponca City Tuesday morning. She had suffered a stroke Wednesday, March 15, at her home in Kaw City and was taken immediately to the hospital but never regained consciousness.

Born in the Kaw City community in 1885, Mrs. Howland had lived in that vicinity all her life. Two years ago, the family moved to Kaw City.

She was a member of the Christian church and had been affiliated with the Rebekah lodge in her home town.

Survivors include her husband, one son, C. Steve Howland, Ponca City; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Yocum and Mrs. Kenneth Coat, both of Ponca City; two sisters, Mrs. George Huestes of Webb City, Okla., and Mrs. Debbie Penisten, Wichita Falls, Tex. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist church at Kaw City and burial will be in the Newkirk cemetery.
