Lawton 'Bill' Earl McKenzie

SENECA - Lawton "Bill" Earl McKenzie, 78, formerly of Seneca, died March 20, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Village in Alliance. He was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Hockerville, Okla., to Benjamin and Ivy Sharp McKenzie. Seven Children were born to this union. On Aug. 30, 1958, he married Mary Jimerson in Easton, Colo. He worked for Monfort Packing in Greeley, Colo., retiring in 1979. He and Mary then moved to Seneca to own and operate the Cattleman's Restaurant. He also worked for Butch Labore at the Loup Co. Vet. Clinic in Mullen. His hobbies were gardening, trap shooting, music, holidays, which he enjoyed with his grandkids and friends. He loved to tease the grandkids and always having a good joke to share with his friends. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Alliance; son, James David (Deb) of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughters, Felishia (Roger) Hoagland of Alliance, Melba Harding of Gothenburg and Bobbie (Jess) Licking of Seneca; sister, Berniece Hussong of Galena, Kan.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ivy Mae; brothers, James David and Melvin; and sisters, Bertha Miller, Tot Ferguson and Bonnie Conrad.Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Haven Hospice or Good Samaritan Village of Alliance or the Seneca Auditorium Building Fund. Services will be at 2 p.m. MST today at the Seneca Auditorium with the Rev. Linda Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery.
