Headline: Willie J. Abels Dies; Burial at Bethlehem
Willie J. Abels, 85, of Winnfield died Saturday, August 25, 1973, in the Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro. Funeral services were held at 2pm Sunday in the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev Wilmer Jordan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mr Abels was a World War I veteran and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs W.J. Abels, two sons, Charles Louie Abels of Winnfield and Earl Abels Sr., of Ball; three brothers, Bob Abels and Charlie Abels, both of Goldonna, and Joe Abels of Washington; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
