Born May 7, 1931 in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond N. and Cora Shoemake Gandy. Lexine worked as a nurse's aide at Coleman Aimar and a social worker at Darlington Convalescent Center, Oakhaven and Medford Nursing Home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Surviving are her three sons: William "Billy" Wesley (Debbie) Street Jr., Raymond Lawrence (Sabrina) Street, Michael Dean (Melinda) Street, all of Darlington; two daughters: Laura Street Rolfe and Michelle Street, of Darlington; Grandchildren: Wayne, Amber, Ashlie, Heather, Sara, Adrian, Matthew, Chloe, Kalob, Jayden; several great grands, three sisters: Erlene Teel of Patrick, Ren Watford of Hartsville, Evelene Flowers Tyner, of Darlington; a brother, Raymond (Libby) Gandy of Hartsville, and a sister-in-law, Zulene Gandy of Kingstree. Lexine also leaves behind lots of friends to carry on her memory.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Wesley "Bill" Street, two sisters: Betty Sansbury, Carolyn Gandy; two brothers: W. C. Gandy and Hubert Gandy.
The Family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday, May 10 at the funeral home.
