He was the thrid son of Spier Blitch and received land grants in Effingham County in 1825 and 1839. He married Mahala Tyson in Effingham County July 23, 1830 and to them were born three children, as follows: Elinor, Hannah and Spier. After her death he married Martha Ann Willis, also in Effingham County, Oct. 16, 1835. To this union were born 4. Ferney W. Blitch in 1836, 5. Jack Blitch, 6. Wm. Harrison Blitch, 7. Gideon J. Blitch, 8. Newton A. Blitch, 9. George M. Blitch, 10. Jesse M. Blitch, 11. Benjamin R. Blitch and 12 Simeon Hardie Blitch.
