Graveside services for Marybelle H. Ramsby of McMinnville were held Friday in the McMinnville Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Stark officiated.
Mrs. Ramsby died March 19, 2001, in her home. She was 88.
Born Feb. 5, 1913, in Sacramento, Calif., she was the daughter of George R. and Dora R. Addington Hauskins. Her family moved to Portland when she was a child. She graduated from Grant High School in 1931.
She graduated from Emanuel Hospital's nurses training program in 1935. She worked as a nurse in Portland, first at Emanuel, then at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
She and Lawrence J. Ramsby were married April 20, 1952.
In 1956, the Ramsbys started growing Christmas trees on the family farm near McMinnville. They moved to McMinnville in 1963.
Mrs. Ramsby was an active partner in the tree farm until her death. She enjoyed bird-watching and natural history.
Survivors include two sons, George Hibbs and Michael Ramsby, both of McMinnville; two daughters, Barbara Hibbs Blake of Greensboro, N.C., and Mary Carol Hibbs Treacy of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Lucille Hauskins Dart of Sacramento; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989 and by a sister.
Arrangements were under the direction of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
