Edith Alderman, 82, of Utica, a Streator native, died at 2 p.m. Thursday on October 12, 2000 at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Burgess Funeral Home in Utica. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Gina Volpe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.

She was born September 25, 1918 in Streator, a daughter of George and Lena (Fickle) Paton. She married James Alderman on August 6, 1939 in Iowa. He died in 1977.

She is survived by a son: James (Nancy) Alderman of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters: Judy (Richard) Gayon and Jacqueline (Dale) Trenor, both of Streator, Jeanne Berenson of Palatine, Jane (Pat) Flynn of Utica and Julianna Alderman of Woodridge; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother: John Paton of Streator; and a sister: Berta Paton of Utica.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
