HERMAN, HENRY

SERVICES SET

Funeral services for Henry C. Herman, city employee who was killed in a sewer trench cave-in Tuesday morning, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home. Elder J.J. Dollinger of the Hilborn Adventist Church, will officiate.

Final rites were set back until next Monday to allow relatives from North Dakota to attend the services.

Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.

Herman was crushed to death by sliding earth in a 12-foot ditch at Loma Dr. and Turner Rd., a fate which Marion and Wilburh McDonald, fellow workers, narrowly escaped.

Chief Fred Hunt of the Lodi Police Department, who is directing an investigation into circumstances surrounding the fatal accident, to determine whether negligence was involved, said yesterday he would have no report to make until completion of the inquiry.
