Leroy went home to be with our Lord Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.
He was born March 29, 1922.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Hazel; and grandson, Jeff.
Surviving are his two sons, Johnny (Mary) and Rick (Joyce); granddaughters, Amy Bonke (Travis), Jeff's wife, Brandy Monro; great-grandchildren, Caylin Monroe, Rayven and Logan Bonke; stepgrandsons, Keith and Kent Lester; his brother, Charles, from Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Leroy served in the U.S. Army in World Wr II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a life member of DAV.
He was a longtime member of Cypress Baptist Church.
Leroy retired from Preway and was a Yankees and I.U. fan.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Road, Chandler, with Rev. Terry Flowers and Rev. Todd Jones officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. until service time at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
Entombment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, with military rites by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
