Dora Karl Smith, age 91, of Belton will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Dossman Funeral
Home in Belton with Larry Zabcik officiating. Burial will follow in Holland
Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Thursday in a Temple hospital. She was born November
29, 1919 in Holland to Mike and Alice Leatta (Malicoat) Karl. She married B. C.
Smith on September 23, 1939 in Holland. She was a member of the Holland Baptist
Church. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but was also employed by the
Bartlett ISD for several years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and
cooking. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Some of her
greatest joy came from preparing meals for family gatherings and caring for her
family in special ways. She was predeceased by her husband; a grandson, Victor
Robbins; Sisters, Viola Kite and Oma Lee Ivey; Brothers, Charlie Karl, Mike Lee
Karl, Sheridan Karl, James Logan Karl, and Aubrey Gene Karl. Survivors include
son, Ernest Lee Buddy Smith and wife Linda of League City, TX and daughters,
Bertha Harris and husband Doyle Ray of Rogers, and Dora Mae Smith and husband
Jimmy Bartz of Holland and Sandra Jones and husband Randy of Holland, TX,
brother, Milton Rex Karl and wife Marie of Holland, TX; sisters, Lillie Albright
of Belton, TX, and Ellen Kennedy of Bay City, TX, 17 grandchildren, 25 great
grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home.
