Mr. Jensen was as widely known as a sportsman in this area as he was as a long-time retail merchant. He was born at Angus on Seneca Lake and always had lived in the area except for a journey into western states in his early manhood.
Mr. Jensen's first wife was Mary Nelson Jensen, who was killed in an auto accident in 1927. Three years later he married his present wife, Nettie Clift Jensen, whom he met in Holly Springs, Iowa.
An ardent nimrod and fisherman Mr. Jensen spent last Sunday pheasant hunting. A heart condition in recent years had caused him to curtail many of his sports activities. He had planned to go deer hunting on Monday.
Members of Dresden Lodge, F&AM, of which he was a member, will hold a memorial service for Mr. Jensen in the Bennett Funeral Home, 224 North St., tonight at 8 o'clock. He also was a member of the Geneva unit of the Danish Brotherhood, of the West Lake Road Fire Department and Geneva Field Trial & Conservation Club.
The survivors are his wife; two sons, Carl Robert Jensen of Arlington, Tex., and John of Geneva; a daughter, Mrs. Victor (Mary Lou) Beardsley of Bellona; five grandchildren; two brothers, Caius Jensen of Rochester and Holger V. Jensen of Dover, N.J.
