He died at 1:43 p.m. Thursday at Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Wills Point, he had lived in Wellington and Morton before moving to Lubbock County in 1948. He farmed for 26 years before his retirement. He married Gladys Minor on Dec. 23, 1938, in Morton. He was a member of the Broadview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman Ray of Austin and Dorman Clay of Lubbock; a daughter, Norma Kaye Beard of Lubbock his mother, Hettie Harrison of Texico, N.M.; two brothers, Bill of Clovis, N.M., and Lloyd Wayne of Wheeler; a sister, Minnie Hagler of Texico; and six grandchildren.
